7. PHOENECIA INTERCONTENENTAL HOTEL
1st Place Winner in the Design competition held by
Phoenicia Intercontinental Hotel in Beirut
The concept was to design a low budget space yet
functional and modern staff cantina, so I decided to create a space that
assure the main yet contradicted needs of a staff cantina
that are privacy so the employee can have some personal
time for him or herself and in the same time to be able to
communicate with other staff regarding their positions so I
designed one long continuous couch and separated it by placing

designed one long continuous couch and separated it by placing
between each table a conceptual partition that provide both
those needs; this way I manage to gather the staff on one couch all together

equally without any discrimination between different positions and gave them each their privacy by creating a symbolic partition between tables.
